Ingredients:
• 3 medium gourds, peeled and chopped big
• 2 green chillies, finely chopped
• 1/4 tsp – grated Ginger
• 1 tsp – crushed groundnuts
• 2-3 tiny Tamarind bits
• 1/4 tsp – cumin & Mustard Seeds mixed
• 4 -5 pinches Turmeric powder
• salt to taste
• 2 pinches Asafoetida
• 1 tbsp – oil
• 1/4 tsp – black maharashtrian masala (refer) (optional)
Method:
- Wash chopped gourd and drain.
- Heat oil in a pan, add seeds allow to splutter.
- Add asafoetida, green chillies and ginger.
- Stir, add chopped gourd.
- Add tamarind bits, turmeric powder and salt.
- Cover and simmer till gourd is tender.
- Add crushed groundnuts and masala.
- Stir for a minute, and take off fire.
- Serve hot with chapati or steamed rice.
