Ingredients:

• 12 arvi leaves (clean, peel stems and chop)
• 1/2 cup – Peanuts (also soaked similarly)
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 tsp – Coriander powder
• 1 cup – besan
• 1/2 cup – Chana dal (soaked for 3 hours in water)
• 2 tsp – Chilli powder
• 2 tsp – kala masala
• 2 tbsp – Jaggery
• 1/2 cup – Tamarind juice
• 4 tbsp -. oil
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• Salt to taste
• 1 radish1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1/2 tsp – asafoetida.

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add mustard, cumin seeds, asafoetida and cook till brown.
  2. Add arvi leaves, chana dal and peanuts. Add chilli, turmeric and coriander seed powder and kala masala. Add peeled, sliced radish.
  3. Add two cups of hot water and pressure cook till done (10 minutes).
  4. Remove lid, add jaggery, tamarind juice, salt and besan mixed evenly in two cups of water.
  5. Cook slowly till well blended and check seasoning.
  6. Serve with chapattis.
