
Ingredients:
• King fish – 500g
• Shallots – 5
• Tomato – 1 large
• Green chillies – 4
• Curry leaves – a few
• Grated Coconut – 1 cup
• Coconut oil – 2 tbsp
• Methi – 1/4 tsp
• Chilli powder – 2 tsp
• Dhaniya powder – 1/2 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
• Tamarind pulp – 1/2 cup
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Clean and cut the fish into medium pieces and keep aside.
- Dry roast dhaniya and chilli powder for 1 minute.
- Grind together grated coconut, powders, shallots, and tamarind pulp into a smooth paste.
- Slit the green chillies and cut tomatoes into cubes.
- Heat oil in a kadai, add methi, and fry for a second. Now add the ground masala and 2 cups of water and boil for 3 minutes.
- Now add the fish, tomatoes, and green chillies and cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
- Cover it with a lid.
- Garnish with curry leaves and the remaining oil and stir.
- Serve with boiled rice.
