Ingredients:

• Brinjal – 2 medium size
• Onion – 1, chopped fine
• Channa dal – 2 tsp
• Peanuts – few
• Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
• Red Chillies – 1 tsp
• Tamarind juice – 1 tsp
• Jeera – 1 tsp
• Salt – to taste
• Oil – 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Take small pieces of brinjal and fry in oil with onions and salt till tender
  2. Meanwhile, fry channa dal, peanuts, dhania seeds, red chillies, cumin and grind with tamarind juice into a paste and put the paste into the cooked brinjal
  3. Cook for a few mins
  4. Serve hot with rice
