Ingredients:

• Raw Rice – 2 cups
• Toor dhal – 1/2 cup
• Dried red chillies -5 – 7
• Seasoning
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Mustard -1 tsp
• Asafoetida
• Onion
• Curry leaves
• Salt

Method:

  1. Soak rice and dhal separately for two hours.
  2. Then grind rice with red chillies and the dhal separately.
  3. Now mix both the batters together, it can be of thin consistency.
  4. Heat oil in kadai, add mustard seeds, finely chopped onion and fry well with curry leaves and asafoetida.
  5. Pour the seasoning to the rice, dhal batter, add salt to taste.
  6. Heat the tava, and pour the batter from outer edge to middle of the tava, wait until it is cooked well and becomes golden colour add oil around.
  7. Serve hot with any chutney or sambhar.
