Ingredients:
• 2 – big green Tomatoes
• 2 – Green chillies
• A small Lemon sized piece – Jaggery
• 1 tbsp – roasted groundnuts (or 2 tbsp – Channa dal)
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• A few Curry leaves
• 2 tbsp – oil
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Cut the green tomatoes into big chunks.
- In a frying pan, heat oil, add chillies, curry leaves and tomatoes.
- Fry till they are cooked.
- Tomatoes should get soft.
- Switch off the gas and allow to cool.
- Once cooled, add this in a blender along with jaggery, salt and roasted groundnuts (or channa dal).
- Grind without any water.
- Heat some mustard seeds in another kadai and add this to the chutney.
- Serve with rice or rotis.
