Ingredients:

• 2 – big green Tomatoes
• 2 – Green chillies
• A small Lemon sized piece – Jaggery
• 1 tbsp – roasted groundnuts (or 2 tbsp – Channa dal)
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• A few Curry leaves
• 2 tbsp – oil
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Cut the green tomatoes into big chunks.
  2. In a frying pan, heat oil, add chillies, curry leaves and tomatoes.
  3. Fry till they are cooked.
  4. Tomatoes should get soft.
  5. Switch off the gas and allow to cool.
  6. Once cooled, add this in a blender along with jaggery, salt and roasted groundnuts (or channa dal).
  7. Grind without any water.
  8. Heat some mustard seeds in another kadai and add this to the chutney.
  9. Serve with rice or rotis.
