Besan dhokla is a delicious Gujarati snacks made from the gram flour. It’s steamed and served in the breakfast or with the main course. Besan dhokla is a very spongy and yummy in taste. Ingredients
For Batter
– 1 cup gram flour (Besan)
– Salt to taste
– ? teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon green chili paste
– 1 teaspoon ginger paste
– 1 teaspoon lemon juice
– 1 teaspoon Eno salt
For Tadka
– 1 tablespoon oil
– 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
– 3-4 green chilies
– Salt to taste
– 1 teaspoon lemon juice
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– 1 tablespoon green coriander
How To Make?
1. In a bowl, add gram flour and add require water to it and make a thick mixture from it. Then add turmeric powder to it and mix them well and keep it aside for 20 minutes.
2. Now, in a dhokla maker utensil, add 2 glass water to it and put it on the heat.
3. Now, grease the plate with the oil.
4. In a gram flour mixture, add lemon juice, salt, green chilies, ginger paste, eno salt and mix them properly. Now, pour this mixture into the greased plate and place the plate on the stand.
5. Now, cover the dhokla maker utensil and cook the dhokla for 20-25 minutes on HIGH flame.
6. Now, poke the knife into the cooked dhokla to check whether it’s ready or not. Once the Besan dhokla is ready, turn of the heat and take out the plate from the utensil.
7. Let the besan dhokla cool and then cut into a square pieces.
For Tadka
1. In a small pan, pour the oil and let it boil, then add mustard seeds to it. When the mustard seeds starts flattering, add green chilies, water, salt and sugar to it and cook for 2-3 seconds.
2. Remove the pan from the heat and pour the tadka over the dhokla.
3. Garnish the Besan dhokla with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
