
Ingredients:
• Besan (Gram flour) – 50 gm
• Onion – 1 medium size (finely chopped)
• Tomatoes – 2 medium size ( finely chopped)
• Green chillies – 3 (finely chopped)
• Ginger Garlic paste – 1/4 tbsp
• Turmeric powder
• Red Chilli powder
• Coriander powder – 1/4 tbsp
• Caraway – Pinch
• Asafetida – Pinch
• Cumin seed
• Garam Masala – 1/2 tbsp
• Salt to taste
• Oil
• Water
Method:
- Mix besan, 2 green chillies, little red chilli powder and caraway.
- Add water into besan to make dough.
- Make 1 cm diameter round and 4 inches long.
- Add in boiling water and boil for 5 minutes.
- Remove water and cut besan round into small pieces and keep aside. (Besan rounds are called gattes.)
- Heat oil. Add onion, stir-fry till well browned.
- Heat cumin seeds, asafoetida and ginger garlic paste for 2 minutes.
- Heat green chillies and tomatoes for 4 minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, garam masala and one cup water. Boil them for 5 minutes.
- Gravy is ready. Add gatte into gravy and boil for 3 minutes.
- Serve with roti
