
Ingredients:
• 4 tbsp – cocoa
• 3 tbsp – Butter
• 3 tbsp – boiling water
• 2 drops – red color
• 2 – eggs
• 1/2 cup – powdered Sugar
• 1/2 cup – sifted flour
• 1/2 tsp – baking powder
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 1/2 tsp – vanilla essence
• 1/2 cup – walnuts, chopped
• 1/2 cup – Cream cheese
• 1 – Egg
• 2 tbsp – Butter
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 1 tbsp – flour
• 1/2 tsp – vanilla essence
Method:
- Combine the cocoa, boiling water, butter and red colour.
- Stir until the cocoa has dissolved and then cool.
- Place a bowl in a pan of hot water.
- Beat 2 eggs and the powdered sugar in the bowl until thick and fluffy.
- Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt.
- Fold the flour and cocoa mixture into the eggs.
- Add the vanilla essence and the chopped walnuts.
- Liquidise the cream cheese with the egg, butter, sugar, flour and vanilla essence.
- Grease and flour an 8 inch square baking tin.
- Drop alternate spoonful of chocolate and cream cheese mixtures into the tin, run a knife through it to give a marbled effect.
- Bake at 180 degrees C for about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Cool and cut into squares.
