Ingredients:

• 4 tbsp – cocoa
• 3 tbsp – Butter
• 3 tbsp – boiling water
• 2 drops – red color
• 2 – eggs
• 1/2 cup – powdered Sugar
• 1/2 cup – sifted flour
• 1/2 tsp – baking powder
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 1/2 tsp – vanilla essence
• 1/2 cup – walnuts, chopped
• 1/2 cup – Cream cheese
• 1 – Egg
• 2 tbsp – Butter
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 1 tbsp – flour
• 1/2 tsp – vanilla essence

Method:

  1. Combine the cocoa, boiling water, butter and red colour.
  2. Stir until the cocoa has dissolved and then cool.
  3. Place a bowl in a pan of hot water.
  4. Beat 2 eggs and the powdered sugar in the bowl until thick and fluffy.
  5. Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt.
  6. Fold the flour and cocoa mixture into the eggs.
  7. Add the vanilla essence and the chopped walnuts.
  8. Liquidise the cream cheese with the egg, butter, sugar, flour and vanilla essence.
  9. Grease and flour an 8 inch square baking tin.
  10. Drop alternate spoonful of chocolate and cream cheese mixtures into the tin, run a knife through it to give a marbled effect.
  11. Bake at 180 degrees C for about 20 to 25 minutes.
  12. Cool and cut into squares.
