Ingredients:

• 7 to 8 slices bread
• 1/4 cup – rava
• 1/2 tsp – Channa dal
• 1/2 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 medium Onion (sliced)
• 2 green chilies (finely chopped)
• 3 to 4 tbsp – oil for frying
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 sprig Curry leaves
• 3 cups – water
• juice of 1 Lime
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Roast the rava in a kadai without any oil, till the raw smell disappears. Set aside.
  2. In another kadai heat the oil and then add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, chana and urad dal.
  3. Introduce the onions (cut lengthwise) and green chilies.
  4. Fry the onions till they turn slightly pink.
  5. Now add the water, lime juice, salt and turmeric powder.
  6. When the water starts boiling, reduce the flame.
  7. Sprinkle the rava with one hand and stir with another to avoid lumps.
  8. Add the bread which has been cut into small pieces.
  9. Mix well and serve hot.
