Ingredients:
• 7 to 8 slices bread
• 1/4 cup – rava
• 1/2 tsp – Channa dal
• 1/2 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 medium Onion (sliced)
• 2 green chilies (finely chopped)
• 3 to 4 tbsp – oil for frying
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 sprig Curry leaves
• 3 cups – water
• juice of 1 Lime
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• salt to taste
Method:
- Roast the rava in a kadai without any oil, till the raw smell disappears. Set aside.
- In another kadai heat the oil and then add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, chana and urad dal.
- Introduce the onions (cut lengthwise) and green chilies.
- Fry the onions till they turn slightly pink.
- Now add the water, lime juice, salt and turmeric powder.
- When the water starts boiling, reduce the flame.
- Sprinkle the rava with one hand and stir with another to avoid lumps.
- Add the bread which has been cut into small pieces.
- Mix well and serve hot.
