Ingredients:

• Chana dal – ½ kg
• Rawa – ½ kg
• Coconut – 1 big, grated
• Sugar – ¾ kg
• Ghee – 1 cup
• grated Coconut – 2 cup
• Cardamom powder – ½ tsp
• Cashew nuts – 2 tbsp
• Raisins – 2 tbsp
• For Garnish:
• Banana slices
• Honey

Method:

  1. Cook dal till soft but not mushy. (drain and reserve excess water if any)
  2. Roast rawa and cook with 4 cups of water (use the water from dal if reserved).
  3. Mix dal and rawa together.
  4. Add sugar and ¾ cup of ghee.
  5. Cook stirring till it forms a lump.
  6. Add grated coconut.
  7. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  8. Add cardamom powder.
  9. Heat remaining ghee.
  10. Fry cashew nuts and raisins and add to the huggi.
  11. Serve topped with banana slices
