
Ingredients:
• 1 tbsp – oil
• 1 -onion, cubed and separate each layer
• 10- Cloves garlic, chopped
• 1 -capsicum, remove seeds and cut into cubes
• For the sauce:
• 1 tbsp – soy sauce
• 1 tbsp – Oyster sauce
• 1.5 tbsp – Red Chilli sauce
• 1.5 tbsp – Tomato ketchup
• 300 g – Prawns (net weight after cleaning), cleaned and deveined
Method:
- In a small bowl, mix all the sauces and keep aside.
- Clean and devein prawns. Wash well and drain out water thoroughly. Marinate prawns with 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and 1/2 tsp salt. Cover and keep aside for half an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add cubed onion and fry until light pink colour.
- Add chopped garlic and fry till colour lightly changes.
- Add capsicum and fry for 2 – 3 minutes until it softens.
- Add sauce and mix well. Do not add water when cooking. Cover with a lid and cook on a low heat for 2 – 3 minutes.
- When the sauce boils nicely, add marinated prawns. Cover again, cook on a low heat for 5 – 7 minutes until done or till the prawns are well-cooked and pink in colour. Serve hot with noodles / fried rice.
