
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup – Bengal Gram dal
• 1/2 cup – Urad Dal
• Curry leaves – a few
• 5-6 Red Chillies
• Tamarind – Lemon sized
• Coriander leaves – a few sprigs
• Asafoetida – a pinch
• 1/2 cup – freshly grated Coconut
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp – oil to fry
Method:
- Heat oil in a kadai, add channa dal, urad dal, curry leaves, coriander, asafoetida, red chillies and tamarind and fry till golden brown.
- Allow to cool, add coconut and salt and grind in a blender with oil.
- Serve with hot rice or roti.
