Ingredients:

• For the kofta:
• 1 cup – mixture of soaked urad dal, yellow moong dal, Channa dal, Toor Dal
• 1 small cup – mixture of coriander leaves, spring onions, Mint leaves
• 1 tsp – hot oil
• Salt as per taste
• Oil for frying
• For the gravy:
• 1 – Onion
• 2 – Tomatoes
• 1 tsp – Ginger – Garlic paste
• Salt as per taste
• 1 tbsp – paste of kofta
• 1 tbsp – Cream
• 1/2 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tbsp – coriander powder
• 1 tbsp – roasted fennel, coriander, cumin powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• Oil for cooking

Method:

  1. Make a thick paste of the soaked dals, salt, coriander-mint mixture and 1 tsp of hot oil.
  2. Mix everything well (reserve 1 tbsp) and make small balls.
  3. Deep fry in hot oil. Drain and keep aside.
  4. Take another pan, heat 2 to 3 tbsps of oil.
  5. Add the onion paste and fry it till it turns brown.
  6. Add ginger – garlic paste and mix well.
  7. When the mixture turns brown, add crushed tomatoes.
  8. Add all the spices and salt.
  9. When it boils, add the reserved kofta paste and cream, and let it simmer.
  10. Finally, add 2 cups of water and the fried koftas.
  11. Cook for 2 mins and serve hot.
