Ingredients:
• 3 medium sized Pomfrets
• 5 medium sized Onions (finely chopped)
• 3 medium-sized Tomatoes (finely chopped)
• 4 Green chillies (finely chopped)
• 12 Cloves – Garlic (finely chopped)
• 2.5 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 2 .5 tsp – coriander powder
• 3/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 6 tbsp – oil (for sauteing the onions)
• sufficient oil for shallow frying the fish
• 2 tbsp – Coriander leaves ( finely chopped)
• salt to taste
Method:
- Clean, wash and cut each pomfret into 3 medium sized slices.
- Rub salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder on the fish pieces. Put it aside for an hour.
- Shallow fry the fish pieces on a medium flame till done. Keep aside. Heat 6 tbsp oil in a kadai.
- Add onions, green chillies and garlic. Saute till the onions turn pink.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, powdered spices and some salt.
- Cook on a low flame till the tomatoes are tender and the oil has separated.
- Add the fried pieces of fish and mix very gently. Simmer for five minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with hot phulkas and onion rings.
