Ingredients:

• 15 – Chicken pieces
• 1 cup – Yogurt
• 1 tbsp – Coriander powder
• Salt
• 2 – Whole spices (bay leaves, Cinnamon sticks, cloves, cardamom)
• 2 – Onions (chopped)
• 2 – Tomatoes (chopped finely)
• 1 tsp – Ginger paste
• 1 tsp – Garlic paste
• Salt
• 1/4 cup – Gingili oil
• To Grind:
• 5 – Dry Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Fennel seeds
• 1 tsp – Peppercorns
• 1 tbsp – Poppy Seeds
• 10 – Shallots
• 1/4 cup – Grated Coconut
• 5 -Curry leaves

Method:

  1. Grind all the ingredients from the list to grind as fine thick paste and keep aside.
  2. Heat the gingili oil and fry the whole spices until they turn brown.
  3. Add immediately the chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste and saute everything until the raw smell goes away.
  4. Now add the marinated chicken pieces and saute until the chicken pieces get half cooked.
  5. Now add the grounded paste and cook everything in simmer until the oil separates.
  6. Add enough water and cook everything until the chicken pieces get well cooked. Serve hot.
  7. Enjoy this delicious chicken kurma with rice and rotis.
