Ingredients:

• 1 – Carrot
• 1 raw – Banana
• 1/2 – Onion
• 1/2 inch – Ginger
• 3 – Green chilli
• 4 – Dates
• 5 – Mint leaves
• 1 tsp – roasted groundnuts
• 1 tsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• salt to taste
• Lemon juice
• 1 tsp – chat masala
• 1/4 tsp – mustard
• 1/4 tsp – Urad Dal
• 1 tsp – Lemon juice

Method:

  1. Grate carrots, chop onion, chilli, mint and ginger.
  2. Boil raw banana for 10 mins. Cool, peel and mash.
  3. Chop dates and grind ground nuts coarsely.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard.
  5. Once they crackle, add urad dal, chopped onion, ginger, chilli and stir.
  6. Add red chilli powder, salt, carrots and fry.
  7. Cook for 2 mins. Add chopped mint, chat masala and remove from heat.
  8. Cool and add mashed raw banana, lemon juice and mix well.
  9. Divide into 6 to 8 portions and stuff with the chopped dates.
  10. Make a patty or tikki and coat with groundnut powder.
  11. Fry carefully in a non-stick pan on medium heat till crisp.
  12. Serve hot.
