
Ingredients:
• 500 gms – Maida
• 10 gms – salt
• 100 gms – Sugar
• 200 gms – Jaggery
• 1/2 Coconut
• 5 gms – cardamoms, crushed
• oil for frying
• water for the dough
Method:
- Mix salt and maida together and rub it in a little ghee.
- Add a little water and make a tight dough.
- Set it aside.
- Grate the jaggery and coconut.
- Melt ghee in a pan, add the grated jaggery, coconut, sugar and crushed cardamom and stir over low heat to make a fine mixture.
- Remove it and let it cool.
- Make equal number of medium-sized balls out of the dough and the jaggery-coconut mixture.
- Roll out the dough into puris.
- Place one ball of the sweet mixture on one half of each puri.
- Fold each puri into a crescent shape and seal the edges with small twists.
- Heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the puris till they become golden brown.
- Serve hot.
