Ingredients:

• Brinjals – 100 g
• oil – 1 tbsp
• Tamarind paste – lime-size
• Salt to taste
• For masala powder:
• 2 tsps – coriander
• 1 tsp – tur dal,
• 1 tsp – Bengal Gram dal
• 5 – Red Chillies
• Seasoning:
• Hing – a pinch
• mustard – 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Wash and cut brinjal into long thin slices.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai.
  3. Cook the brinjal for 5 mins.
  4. Add tamarind paste, salt and the masala powder.
  5. Add little water and cook till the brinjals are soft.
  6. Season with mustard, hing and curry leaves.
