Ingredients:

• Koftas
• 125 g – amul cheese – mashed
• 50 g – cornflour
• 1/2 tsp – pepper powder
• Oil for frying
• Gravy:
• 250 g – Onion – grated
• 200 g – Tomatoes – pureed
• 3 cm piece Ginger – ground
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala
• 200 g – oil
• 3/4 tsp – salt

Method:

  1. Mix mashed cheese with cornflour and pepper. Knead well.
  2. Form into walnut-sized koftas and deep fry till light brown. Drain and keep aside.
  3. To make gravy, heat oil in a pan and brown onions.
  4. Add ginger and fry well.
  5. Add tomatoes, turmeric, red chilli and garam masala and fry on a low fire till oil separates.
  6. Add water according to the consistency of gravy required.
  7. Correct seasoning.
  8. Boil for 5 minutes. Add koftas and boil for a further two minutes.
  9. Serve hot with parathas or tandoori rotis.
  10. Makes about 8.
