Ingredients:

• 12 – mackerels
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp – Vinegar
• 2 tbsp – cooking oil
• For mincing:
• 4 – Green chillies
• 1 – Ginger
• 2 – Onions
• 4 flakes – Garlic
• For grinding:
• 8 – dry Red Chillies
• 1 tbsp – coriander
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 8 – peppercorns
• 1 – Turmeric

Method:

  1. Clean, wash and cut the fish, and keep aside.
  2. Grind the masala in vinegar and salt, and mix it with the fish, so that the fish absorbs the masala.
  3. Prepare the minced masala.
  4. Heat oil in a cooking pot, add sliced onions till they turn brown.
  5. Add the minced masala and boil.
  6. Add the fish and cook it for some time, with the pot covered with a lid.
  7. Cook the gravy for about 15 minutes.
  8. Stir at regular intervals.
  9. Be careful not to break the fish.
  10. Taste the curry, and add salt and vinegar if required.
