Ingredients:

• For pattice:
• 1 cup – Corn kernels
• 2 – boiled Potatoes
• 1 tbsp – ginger-garlic paste
• 1 tsp – Green chillies
• 1 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tsp – Haldi
• 1 tsp – Jeera powder
• salt
• For frankie:
• 1 cup – Maida
• water
• chopped Onion (optional)
• oil
• salt
• For chutney:
• 1/4 cup – Mint leaves
• 1 cup – Cilantro
• 2-3 – chillies
• 1/4 tsp – Jeera
• salt

Method:

  1. Method for making patties:
  2. Boil corn kernels (you can use fresh corn too, boil it and remove kernels).
  3. Mash the kernels well.
  4. Add boiled potatoes, ginger-garlic paste and spices.
  5. Take the mixture and make a small patties out of it and shallow fry them and keep aside.
  6. Method for making frankie:
  7. Make a dough out of maida, salt and water like the chapatti dough.
  8. Roll into small chapattis.
  9. Roast them on a tava on both sides.
  10. You can also use tortillas if you want.
  11. Method for making chutney: Prepare mint chutney by mixing chutney ingredients and grinding it.
  12. To make the makai frankie:
  13. Take a roti and spread mint chutney on it.
  14. Place 2 patties in between, mash a little and add some chopped onion (optional).
  15. Roll the roti by joining both ends and shallow fry them till it is crisp on both sides .
  16. While serving, cut the frankie into halves and serve with chutney.
  17. You can also serve it with tamarind chutney.
