
Ingredients:
• 85 gms – split moong beans (lentils)
• 150 gms – Rice
• 500 ml – water
• 1 tsp – salt (or to taste)
• 50 gms – (2 oz.) Butter or margarine
Method:
- Wash the rice and moong beans and soak for at least half an hour.
- Put all the ingredients in a saucepan except for the butter.
- Bring to boil, cover and simmer for 40 mins. until cooked mushy (it may be necessary to add more water during cooking if the mixture becomes too dry).
- Finally, add the butter and stir in before serving.
