Ingredients:

• 3 cups – moong dal
• 3 Green chillies
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric
• Salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp soda bicarbonate
• 1 tsp Cumin seeds
• A pinch of Asafoetida
• Oil as needed
• For the Garlic chutney, grind to a fine paste:
• 15 Cloves of Garlic
• 4 Green chillies
• 2 Red Chillies
• 1 tsp salt
• A small ball of Tamarind

Method:

  1. Soak dal in water for 8 hours.
  2. Strain, grind to a paste.
  3. Mix with soda bicarbonate, chopped chillies, chilli powder, cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric and salt.
  4. Grease a tava with oil.
  5. Pour a spoonful of the batter and spread it like a dosa. Put ghee around and fry on both sides.
  6. Serve with garlic chutney.
