Ingredients:
• 2 cups all purpose flour
• 1 cup buttermilk
• 1/4 cup shortening
• 1/4 cup Butter
• 1.5 cups Sugar
• 2 tsp – Nutmeg
• 1 tsp soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp – vanilla essence
• 3 eggs
• 1/4 tsp salt
Method:
- Cream shortening and butter together.
- Gradually add sugar and vanilla essence and cream until light.
- Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
- Sieve dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beating after each addition.
- Pour into greased pan and bake in a moderate slow oven at 180 C for 30-40 mins.
