Ingredients:
• 1 kg – white Oats
• 150 gms – thin Poha
• 1/2 cup – each peanuts, Cashewnuts and Chana Dalia (roasted Chana dal), broken
• 1 tbsp – white sesame seeds
• 20 – Green chillies
• 1 bunch – Curry leaves
• 3 tsp – coriander powder
• 1 tsp – each Turmeric powder and cumin powder
• a pinch of Asafoetida (hing)
• 6 tsp – oil
• salt to taste
• 4 tbsp – Sugar
Method:
- Roast the oats and poha separately over a medium flame until crisp. Use 2 tsp of oil to help roast better.
- Also roast the sesame seeds.
- Now add one tbsp. of oil in the same pan and saute the peanuts until brown.
- Chop the green chillies into small pieces. Set aside all the fried items.
- Heat the remaining oil in a pan. When it is hot, add turmeric powder and asafoetida, followed by the curry leaves.
- Add channa dalia and cashewnuts and saute until they turn reddish.
- Add the chillies and fry again for some time. Add the sesame seeds.
- Finally, add the oats, poha and all the fried ingredients together and mix. Add salt, coriander powder, cumin powder, sugar and toss gently.
- Serve hot.
