• 1 large – ox tongue
• 1 big – sliced Onion
• 4 – Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – peppercorns
• 2 – Cloves
• 2 pieces – Cinnamon
• 2 tbsp – oil

Method:

  1. Wash the ox tongue well and then pressure cook it with 2 cups of water and a little salt till it is tender. Let some of the soup remain.
  2. Open the pressure-cooker and remove the boiled tongue out.
  3. Let it cool for some time.
  4. Once it’s a little cold, remove the white skin from the tongue and put it back into the open cooker. Add oil, onions, red chillies, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon and a little salt to it.
  5. Mix it together well.
  6. Cook on simmer or low heat till all the soup dries up and the tongue is brown in colour all over.
  7. Cut it into slices and arrange it on a plate along with the residue.
  8. Serve it with mashed potatoes and bread.
