Ingredients:
• 1 large – ox tongue
• 1 big – sliced Onion
• 4 – Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – peppercorns
• 2 – Cloves
• 2 pieces – Cinnamon
• 2 tbsp – oil
• salt
Method:
- Wash the ox tongue well and then pressure cook it with 2 cups of water and a little salt till it is tender. Let some of the soup remain.
- Open the pressure-cooker and remove the boiled tongue out.
- Let it cool for some time.
- Once it’s a little cold, remove the white skin from the tongue and put it back into the open cooker. Add oil, onions, red chillies, peppercorns, cloves, cinnamon and a little salt to it.
- Mix it together well.
- Cook on simmer or low heat till all the soup dries up and the tongue is brown in colour all over.
- Cut it into slices and arrange it on a plate along with the residue.
- Serve it with mashed potatoes and bread.
