Ingredients:

• 1 – ridge gourd.
• 1 tbsp – urad dal.
• 1 tsp – Channa dal.
• 3 or 4 – dry red chillies.
• Asafoetida, a pinch.
• 1 tbsp – Tamarind juice.
• Salt.
• oil.

Method:

  1. Peel the ridge gourd and slice. Heat oil, add urad dal, channa dal, red chillies, asafoetida and fry.
  2. Add the ridge gourd slices, salt, and fry till soft. Allow to cool.
  3. Grind coarsely with tamarind extract.
