
Ingredients:
• 1 lb-paneer
• 1 inch piece-ginger
• 6 -garlic pods
• 2 – Onions -(medium) or 400 g (diced)
• 1 tsp-turmeric powder
• 2 tsp-red chilli powder
• 1.5 tbsp-coriander powder
• 1 tbsp-cumin powder
• 2- Tomatoes – (large, chopped)
• 2.75 cups-water or whey
• 5 cups- Green peas (canned or frozen)
• 1/2 tsp-garam masala powder
• 1/2 cup-vegetable oil
• Cilantro for garnishing
• salt
Method:
- Grind ginger and garlic into a paste or crush them in a mortar and pestle.
- Place pressure cooker on high heat and heat the oil. When the oil is hot, add onions and fry till golden brown.
- Add prepared ginger and garlic and stir for a few seconds.
- Add turmeric, chilli, coriander, cumin powders, salt, tomatoes and 1/4 cup water or whey.
- Stir occasionally and cook till tomatoes are pulpy and oil separates, for about 5 minutes.
- Add peas and saute for about 2 minutes and add the remaining water or whey.
- Close cooker and bring to full pressure on high heat, then reduce heat and cook for another min.
- Remove cooker from heat and release pressure.
- Open cooker and place it on medium heat and add paneer.
- Simmer for about 5 minutes and stir in garam masala powder.
- Serve hot garnished with cilantro.
