Ingredients:
• 1 cup – urad dal.
• 2 cups – rice.
• salt according to taste.
• a pinch of soda.
Method:
- Wash and soak the rice and dal separately for about 6 hours.
- Drain and grind rice coarsely and the dal till it is light and frothy.
- Mix together dal, rice, soda and little water, salt and set aside for the whole night.
- Steam and serve with sambar poured over the top.
