Ingredients:

• Mackerels – 3
• Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
• Garlic – 8
• Green chilli – 4
• chilli powder – 2 tsp
• Coconut oil – enough for frying
• White Vinegar – 4 tbsp

Method:

  1. Cut and clean mackerels into small pieces.
  2. Then marinate it with 3 tsp chilli powder, 3 tsp garlic-ginger paste, 3/4 tsp fennel seed powder and 1 tsp turmeric powder.
  3. Keep this in fridge for 1 hour and fry in coconut oil.
  4. Chop garlic, ginger and green chillies.
  5. Also cut a few curry leaves.
  6. After frying fish, take it out and put chopped garlic, ginger, green chillies and curry leaves in the remaining oil.
  7. Fry for few minutes.
  8. Add 4 tbsp of white vinegar and 2 tsp of chilli powder into this.
  9. Let it boil.
  10. Put fried mackerel pieces into it.
  11. Remove from fire.
  12. When it turns cool keep in the refrigerator.
  13. Mix before serving.
  14. We can also make pickle with kingfish, shark and prawns.
