
Ingredients:
• 4 cups – Wheat flour
• 750 gm – minced Meat
• 2 – onions, chopped
• 1 thumb sized piece – ginger, finely chopped
• 1 tsp – salt
Method:
- For the stuffing:
- Heat some oil, saute the onions until transparent.
- Add the ginger and saute for a few mins.
- Add the minced meat and salt and cook until done.
- For the dough:
- Mix the wheat flour with 2 cups of water and knead into a stiff dough.
- Roll out on a floured surface till very thin. The rolled dough should be a square about 2 feet.
- Cut circles with the rim of tea cup.
- Place a circle of dough on your left hand, slightly stretch the edges and place a tsp of filling in the centre.
- Then with your right thumb and forefinger, pleat the dough together over the centre of the meat, forming a pin-wheel design.
- Your left thumb is used to tuck the minced meat down as you go, and the dumplings turn on your palm as you pleat around it.
- Oil a steamer and steam momos for 20 – 25 mins.
