
Ingredients:
• 1 kg – pomfrets, cut into thick slices.
• 3 big – onions, sliced finely.
• 2 – green chillies, sliced lengthwise.
• 1 tbsp – Ginger Garlic paste.
• 3 tbsp – grounded Coconut paste or Coconut milk.
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder.
• 3 tbsp – oil.
• salt.
• 1 cup – thick Tamarind juice or 1/2 cup – Lime juice.
• 3 tsp – chilli powder.
• 1 tsp – cumin powder.
• 1 tsp – coriander powder.
• 2 sprigs – curry leaves.
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan and add the curry leaves and onions and saute for a few minutes.
- Add the ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and coconut and fry for 2-3 mins.
- Add the tamarind juice, salt, slit green chillies and bring it to a boil.
- Add the fish and a little more water if more gravy is required.
- Cook on low heat for about 5 mins till the fish is cooked.
- Pour a tbsp of oil on top of it and then remove it from heat.
- Serve it with rice or bread.
