Ingredients:

• Cucumber – 1
• Moong dal – 4 tbsps
• Channa dal – 2 tsp
• Scrapped fresh Coconut – 4 tsp
• Black Gram Dhal – 2 tsp
• Jeera – 1 tsp
• Green chillies – 2

Method:

  1. Peel and cut cucumber and the chillies into small pieces.
  2. Add moong dhal, channa dal and 3/4 cups water to the cucumber and chillies.
  3. Cook mixture in pressure cooker.
  4. Fry black gram dal in a little oil till it turns light brown in colour and grind with coconut.
  5. Mix well with cucumber, then add jeera and hing.
  6. Season with mustard, black gram dhal and curry leaves. Cook for 2 mins and the cucumber kootu is ready.
