Ingredients:

• Soya nuggets – 1 cup
• Onion sliced – 1 cup
• Ginger and Green chilli paste – 2 tsp
• Garlic chopped fine -1 tsp
• Saunf (fennel seeds) – 1/2 tsp
• Dhaniya powder – 1 tsp
• Garam Masala powder – 1 tsp
• Kashmiri chilli powder – 1 tsp
• salt to taste
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Water – 4.5 cups

Method:

  1. Boil 3 cups water and add the soya nuggets.
  2. Boil for 2 minutes and turn off the gas.
  3. Keep covered for 10 minutes.
  4. Drain off the water and squeeze excess water from soya nuggets.
  5. Heat 1 tbsp oil. Fry the sliced onion.
  6. Add the ginger/chilli paste, dhania powder, chilli powder and fry well.
  7. Cool and grind to paste with one tomato.
  8. Heat oil. Add the fennel seeds, chopped garlic and fry. Add the ground masala and fry again.
  9. Add the garam masala and mix.
  10. Add the soya nuggets and stir.
  11. Add salt to taste.
  12. Add 1.5 cup water and simmer till gravy thickens.
  13. Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve hot.
