Ingredients:

• 8 – sardines or 6 – mackerels
• 1 cup – thick Coconut Milk
• 1/2 inch – Ginger
• 3 pod – Garlic
• 1/2 – red Onion
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric
• 2 tbsp – Kashmiri chilli
• 1/2 tsp – coriander powder
• A small ball of Tamarind
• Green chillies
• Curry leaves
• Coriander leaves
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Clean and cut the fish.
  2. Place in a wok.
  3. To this, add ginger, garlic, onion, green chillies (all cut lengthwise), curry leaves, coriander leaves.
  4. Soak tamarind in water and extract juice.
  5. Add to the fish.
  6. Also add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt.
  7. Mix this to a smooth paste.
  8. Add some water and boil for 10 mins.
  9. Finally add the coconut milk.
  10. Serve with hot rice.
