Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – torai
• 1 cup – Channa dal
• 1 – small Onion
• 4 – Green chillies
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala
• A pinch of Turmeric
• Salt to taste
• For paste:
• 1/4 cup – coconut, grated
• 4 flaks – Garlic
• 1 tsp – Jeera
• Grind with little water

Method:

  1. Cut torai and onion into cubes.
  2. Wash channa dal and cook with torai till soft and done.
  3. Add ground paste, chillies, chilli powder, garam masala, and turmeric.
  4. Mix well and let it cook for 1 min.
  5. Put oil for tadka.
  6. Add mustard and curry leaves.
  7. Add this to curry.
  8. Serve hot with rotis and rasam rice.
