Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Urad Dal
• 1/2 cup – Rice
• 1 tbsp – Ghee
• 1 cup – grated Jaggery
• 2.5 cups – water
• 1 tbsp – Sugar (optional)
• A pinch of Cardamom powder
• 1 tbsp – grated Coconut
• Nuts – as required

Method:

  1. Wash the rice and dal separately and keep aside to dry. It might take the whole morning.
  2. Dry roast rice and dal separately and keep aside to cool off. Grind both separately to make a coarse powder (like rava). Mix them and grind together again for a minute for better texture.
  3. Boil 1 cup water in a pan and add jaggery. When the jaggery dissolves, add the ground mix along with the remaining water and stir continuously for 2-3 minutes until it’s a smooth blend.
  4. Add ghee and sugar and continue to stir. Cover the lid and cook on a low flame for 7-8 minutes.
  5. Add cardamom and grated coconut, stir it once and turn off the flame.
  6. Garnish with nuts of your choice.
