Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Urad Dal
• 1/2 cup – Rice
• 1 tbsp – Ghee
• 1 cup – grated Jaggery
• 2.5 cups – water
• 1 tbsp – Sugar (optional)
• A pinch of Cardamom powder
• 1 tbsp – grated Coconut
• Nuts – as required
Method:
- Wash the rice and dal separately and keep aside to dry. It might take the whole morning.
- Dry roast rice and dal separately and keep aside to cool off. Grind both separately to make a coarse powder (like rava). Mix them and grind together again for a minute for better texture.
- Boil 1 cup water in a pan and add jaggery. When the jaggery dissolves, add the ground mix along with the remaining water and stir continuously for 2-3 minutes until it’s a smooth blend.
- Add ghee and sugar and continue to stir. Cover the lid and cook on a low flame for 7-8 minutes.
- Add cardamom and grated coconut, stir it once and turn off the flame.
- Garnish with nuts of your choice.
