
Ingredients:
• 1/2 kg Okra (chopped as small pieces)
• 1 Onion(big and chopped finely)
• 2 Green chillies (slit opened)
• 1 tsp Mustard seeds+ Urad Dal
• Few Curry leaves
• Oil
• Salt
• To Dry roast and Grind:
• 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
• 1 tsp Peppercorns
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
• 1 tsp Poppy Seeds
• 1 tbsp Channa dal
• 2 tbsp Desiccated Coconut
• 3 Dry Red Chillies
Method:
- Dry roast and grind all the ingredients given in the list and keep aside.
- Heat enough oil, splutter the mustard seeds and urad dal, add immediately add the chopped onions, slit green chillies, salt.
- Saute until the onions turn translucent.
- Meanwhile heat a few drops of oil, fry the chopped okra for few minutes until they get half cooked.
- Add the ground spice powder and partially cooked okras to the onions, cook on simmer until the okra pieces gets well coated with the spices and cooked well.
- Enjoy hot with curd rice or rasam rice.
