Vegetable dim sum is a Chinese cuisine and goes very well as appetizer. This dim sum is typically served with tea. So it is perfect for tea-time snack and yet light to eat. Just because it sounds complicate it is not that difficult to make it is too easy to try at home. In this dish, the dough wrapper is filled with vegetable stuffing and steamed in a steamer. The serving size of this dim sum is normally small and traditionally it served as three or four pieces in a dish. Have a look for the recipe.

Ingredients:

To Make Dough

– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 teaspoon salt

To Make Filling

– 1 cup finely minced cabbage
– 1 tablespoon oil
– 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
– 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
– Salt to taste
– 1/4 teaspoon vinegar
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

How To Cook?

1. In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour and salt together and knead to dough with water.
2. Heat oil in a pan and add the onion and garlic to it and saute it till little soft and add the minced cabbage and turn around over high heat till slightly cooked.
3. Turn off the flame and add vinegar, pepper powder and salt to it and mix well.
4. Now, roll out the dough thin and cut into rounds.
5. Place the filling in the center and wet the edge and bring edges together to cover the filling and press to seal it and form a half-moon shape.
6. In a steamer, steam it for about 8-10 minutes.
7. Serve it with tea.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20-25 minutes
