Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – split yellow moong dal
• 1/2 cup – red lentils (masoor dal)
• 4-5 – Garlic Cloves (minced)
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – black pepper
• Salt to taste
• 2 – Green chillies (chopped)
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• Cilantro to garnish
• 2 – Dried red chillies

Method:

  1. Pre-heat pressure cooker, add minced garlic and dry fry on a low flame till it turns brown. Sprinkle water if it gets stick.
  2. Add both dals and 3 cups of water.
  3. Add salt and turmeric powder and pressure cook dal till one whistle, turn off the flame.
  4. In a pre-heated pan. Dry roast cumin seeds and dried red chillies.
  5. Add cooked dal and stir to a boil. Turn off the flame.
  6. Sprinkle black pepper and mix.
  7. Garnish with cilantro.
