Aval Oats Idli

Ingredients:

• Aval/Flattened Rice- 1/2 cup
• Rolled Oats-1/2 cup
• Curd-1/2 cup
• Carrot-1
• Peas-a handful
• Mustard-1/2 tsp
• Channa Dal-1/2 tsp
• Green Chillies-2
• Oil-1 tsp
• Urad Dal-1/2 tsp
• Fruit Salt- a pinch
• Salt- to taste
• Coriander leaves-a few

Method:

  1. Dry roast aval and oats in a pan and once cooled, powder them coarsely in a blender. Then, add salt, fruit salt and curd. The idli batter is ready.
  2. In a pan, add mustard, channa dal and urad dal with green chillies. Also add grated carrot and peas. Add this mixture to the idli batter.
  3. With this, add coriander leaves and mix well. Grease the idli plates with oil and pour in the batter.
  4. Steam until done. Tasty Aval Oats Idli is ready. Serve hot with sambhar and chutney.
