• 4 – Large Potatoes
• Sufficient oil for Deep Frying
• salt to taste
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder


  1. Peel and wash the potatoes.
  2. Cut each potato into 4 or 5 thick slices, then cut each slice into strips.
  3. Wrap these strips in a clean towel to dry them.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep-frying pan.
  5. Slide a few strips at a time into the hot oil and fry on high heat till golden brown.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on kitchen paper.
  7. Toss with some salt and chilli powder.
