Ingredients:

• yellow Cucumber – 500 gm
• dry Red Chillies 5 to 6
• grated Coconut – one and a half cup
• Tamarind – 2 cm ball
• oil – 2 tbsp
• Garlic 8 to 10 flakes, peeled
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Peel the cucumber, discard the core and cut the flesh into 4 cm cubes.
  2. Cover the cucumber with just enough water and simmer till it is cooked.
  3. Heat 2 tsp of oil and roast the chillies.
  4. Grind them with coconut and tamarind to a smooth pate.
  5. Add sat and the ground paste to cooked cucumber and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Heat remaining oil and fry garlic till dark brown and add to the Koddel.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice.
