Ingredients:

• tender French beans – 250 gm
• mustard – ½ tsp
• asafetida – ¼ tsp
• grated Coconut – ¼ cup
• green chilies 2, slit
• Sugar – ½ tsp
• oil – 2 tsp
• Curry leaves few
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Remove the top and tail of beans, along with strings, if any.
  2. Cut the beans into thin slices.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard.
  4. When it splutters, add asafetida and curry leaves.
  5. Add beans, green chilies and salt. Mix well.
  6. Add ¼ cup of water and cover the kadai.
  7. When the water begins to boil, lower the heat.
  8. Cook till the vegetables are soft and all the water is absorbed.
  9. Add coconut and sugar.
  10. Mix well and remove from fire.
