
Ingredients:
• 50 – shrimp
• 1 large or 2 small – Onions
• 4 – Green chillies
• 2 tsp – Garlic paste
• Turmeric powder – a pinch
• salt – as required
• 1 tsp – Tamarind paste
• 2 tbsp – coriander powder
• 1 tsp – Cumins seed
• 1/2 tsp – black pepper
• 8 – Curry leaves
• Oil – for cooking
Method:
- Shell the prawns and de-vein them. Cook in a little salted water with black pepper and 1 spoon of garlic paste till done. Remove and drain the excess water.
- Chop the onions and green chillies into tiny pieces.
- Heat oil in a kadai, add curry leaves, cumin, onion, turmeric, garlic and green chilli.
- When the onion turns golden, add coriander and the rest of the black pepper.
- Once the masala is fried, add the shrimp and fry a little.
- Dissolve the tamarind paste in a small bowl of water. Add it to the shrimp, simmer and serve.
