
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Toor Dal
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 2 tbsp – coriander
• a pinch of Turmeric
• a pinch of Asafoetida
• 1 tsp – Rice
• 1 cup – Coconut (grated)
• 7-8 – Red Chillies
• Curry leaves
• salt to taste

Method:
- Grind all the ingredients, except the toor dal, turmeric, salt and curry leaves, with a little water and prepare a paste (not coarse but not too fine either).
- Cut the vegetables into small pieces and cook with the toor dal and turmeric.
- Add the paste and salt to taste, mix well and let it boil.
- Add curry leaves while boiling.
- Serve with rice or as a side dish with roti.
