
Ingredients:
• 1.5 cups – all purpose flour
• 1/4 cup – shortening
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 1/2 cup – Milk
• 1 – Egg
• 2 tsp – baking powder
• 1/4 tsp – salt
• For nutty layer:
• 2 tbsp – Flour
• 2 tbsp – melted Butter
• 1/2 cup – Brown sugar
• 1/2 cup – chopped Walnuts
• 1.5 tsps – Cinnamon powder
Method:
- For Batter:
- Sift flour into a bowl and add shortening, and mix till the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
- Lightly beat eggs and blend with milk.
- Add to flour mixture and stir until moistened.
- For Nutty Layer:
- Combine flour, butter, brown sugar, walnuts and cinnamon powder.
- In greased muffin pans spoon alternate layers of batter and nutty mixture until pans are 2/3 full.
- Bake in a moderate oven at 190 degree Celsius for 20 mins.
