Ingredients:

• 10 – small tender Brinjals
• 3/4 cup – Channa dal
• 1/4 cup – dhaniya
• 7 – Red Chillies
• 1/2 tsp – Methi seeds
• 1 tsp – Jeera
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/4 cup – til seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Hing
• Oil
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Fry all the mentioned ingredients except (brinjals) with 1 tsp of oil till it turns brown and a strong aroma arises.
  2. Grind it into a coarse powder with salt.
  3. Heat oil in a kadai.
  4. Now slit the brinjals and stuff this powder inside.
  5. Drop brinjals into kadai, place lid and cook on a low flame till the brinjals turn tender and loose colour.
  6. Remove the lid and keep stirring occasionally on low flame.
  7. Allow the brinjals to get evenly fried.
  8. Add the rest of the masala powder and fry till it turns brown.
  9. Serve hot with rice.
